Jefferson's Dream Home

This delightful log home was designed for Dave Jefferson, a Vietnam Vet who dreamed of someday having his log home secluded in the woods of Shirley, Maine.  Dave’s dream came true and he is now putting the finishing touches which includes a 2 car detached garage.  Dave used radiant heat, which is wonderful with our log homes.  He loves to talk about how, in winter, it is 20 degrees below zero outside and 70 degrees inside...and there's just an 8" log between the inside and outside. The logs act like radiators; it's called "thermal mass."

This Lodge Log charmer is built with 8” lodge pole pine with Douglas fir rafters, ridge beam and posts. Full log stairs and railing are spectacular in this home.  It showcases a unique stone fireplace built by “Trapper” and has a wrap around log porch to take advantage of the 360-degree view.  The roof is a dark red metal that looks great and is now finished with Messmer’s cedar stain and gloss for low maintenance.  The basement is a walkout with lots of room for a family room, the pool table and Dave’s toys.  Dave is a happy log home owner and would be glad to talk to you about Lodge Log homes. Give him a call.  Owner: Dave Jefferson   207-717-6292.
